Analytical Techniques

The experience of the Biosfered R&D Team and the collaboration with Turin, national and international research organizations allow to use the most advanced techniques for the quality control of raw materials, intermediate processing and final products.
Spectrophotometric analyses (UV/VIS) are used for initial screening and relative quantification, using the most scientifically proven methodologies (e.g. DMAC).

The samples are then analysed according to their physico-chemical characteristics.

Volatilesamples (e.g. Myrliq furanodines or BosLiq volatile fractions) are quantified by gas chromatography combined with flame ionization (GC-FID), while the identification of individual compounds is carried out by gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (GC-MS).

For non-volatile components, liquid chromatography (HPLC) is used for separation and in conjunction with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS) for the precise identification of the individual separated compounds.
