Humulus lupulusis a plant belonging to the Cannabaceae family, widely distributed in Europe, Asia and North America.
The female flowers produce a yellow resin called lupulin, which is rich in nutrients and secondary metabolites. It has been used since ancient times as flavouring, antibacterial agent and in natural medicine to alleviate the symptoms of inflammation, gastric pain, insomnia and stress.
